Service: November 17, 2012

Section: Sermon on the Mount

G. Diane Winters, 48, of Elizabethton, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, November 14, 2012, at the Johnson City Medical Center after a brief battle with cancer.

Diane was a Carter County native. She was preceded in death by her grandparents: the late Horton D. and Myrtle Jones Winters and the late Jonah and Anna Mae Barnett Hampton. Diane was a 1982 graduate of Elizabethton High School and received her Bachelor of Business Administration from East Tennessee State University in 1986.

She was a dedicated Christian, a woman of deep faith and she attended Zion Baptist Church.

Diane was the Controller and part of the Management Team at BCTI in Johnson City. She was an integral part of the company for nineteen years. During her years at BCTI, she enjoyed her work, she cherished the many relationships she built with her friends, co-workers and business acquaintances

Everywhere Diane went she made friends with her contagious smile, twinkling eyes and her enjoyment of life. It didn’t take long, after you met her, to know that she enjoyed bright colors and outfits that matched from head to toe, that she collected all things Coca-Cola, and that she delighted in selecting and working brightly colored puzzles. She had a caring heart for the people in her life, especially for her Mom and Dad, Family and Friends.

Diane was the beloved only child of Roger and Loretta Winters, of Elizabethton. Survivors also include Aunts, Uncles and several Cousins, and a multitude of friends.

There will be a Celebration of Life for Diane at 8 p.m. Friday, November 16, 2012, in the Memorial Funeral Chapel with Pastor Charles Biggs and Dr. D. Alan King officiating. Music will be by Elmer Sams.

Graveside service and interment will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, November 17, 2012, in Happy Valley Memorial Park. The family would like to express a special “Thank You” to Dr. Charles Famoyin, for his compassion and care through the years and the 4500 Wing of Johnson City Medical Center, and to Diane’s Friends and Co-workers.
