George Ronnie Haynes

George “Ronnie” Haynes, 59, of Elizabethton, went home to be with his Lord on Monday, November 22, 2010 at Sycamore Shoals Hospital.

He is the son of Ralph S. Haynes, Sr., Arlington, TN and the late Charlotte Marie Susong Haynes and was born in Davidson County, TN.

In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by two brothers: Ralph S. Haynes, Jr. and Michael Deon Haynes; his paternal grandparents, George William Haynes and Viola Vaught Haynes; and his maternal grandparents, George Warren Susong and Nancy Susong.

Mr. Haynes was a graduate of Barrett’s Chapel High School in Arlington, TN, and retired from Eastman Chemical Company. He was an affiliate member of Brown’s Chapel AME Zion Church where he enjoyed serving as an usher and visiting with people as well as a member of the Belmont Baptist Church, Arlington, TN. He was a 32nd Degree Mason and a member of the Loyal Son’s Masonic Lodge #357.

Mr. Haynes enjoyed serving the Lord and helping people. He was an avid NASCAR fan and loved driving his black Chevy truck. He was a God Parent and loved living life. One characteristic that was important to him was always being on time.

In addition to his father, he is survived by his beautiful wife, Gloria Darlene McKesson Haynes, of the home; one brother, Victor Tracy Haynes, Sr. and his wife, Linda, Elizabethton; three nieces: Charlotte Marie Haynes White and her husband, Herman, Shamika LaBoy Haynes Mackens and her husband, Francisco, and Ebony Kantrell Haynes; two nephews: Victor Tracy Haynes, Jr. and his wife, Ginnifer, and Deon Haynes; four God-daughters, Hannah Grace Hall, Towes Hargrove, Trista Hargrove and Jada Dobbins; six God-sons: Carey Clark, Scott Dobbins, Justin Dobbins, Jace Dobbins, Thomas Hargrove III and Ralph Jamal White; a special cousin, Reginald Horton; several uncles, aunts, great nieces, great nephews, cousins and a host of friends also survive.

The celebration of life for Mr. George “Ronnie” Haynes will be conducted at 12:30 PM on Monday, November 29th in the Chapel of Peace of Tetrick Funeral Home, Elizabethton with Rev. Jeannette Clark and Rev. Herbert Scott officiating. Music will be under the direction of Brown’s Chapel AME Zion Church Choir. The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM-12:30 PM Monday prior to the service. The graveside service and interment will be conducted at Happy Valley Memorial Park following the funeral service.

Active pallbearers will be Carey Clark, Tracy Haynes, Jr., Francisco Mackens, Deitrick McKesson, Christopher Reddick, Jaylen Simmons, Scott Dobbins and Thomas Hargrove III. Honorary pallbearers will be Harry McKesson, Jovan Bass, Paul Honeywood, Solomon Lurry, Thomas Hargrove, Benny Taylor, Dennis McKesson, Floyd Clark, Gary McKesson, David Dugger, Billy Gilbert and the staff of Felty-Roland Florist.

The family would like to express a special thank you to God, Browns Chapel AME Zion Church family, Dr. Todd Whitaker, Dr. Jeffery Schoondyke, Dr. Ray Lamb, Dr. Drew Poret and Dr. Celso Taburnal Ebeo.

The family will also receive friends at the residence or at the home of the brother, Tracy Haynes at anytime.
