 Lowe; a brother, Lionel D. Lowe; and a sister, Jean Bales. He is survived by his son, David Lowe, Milligan College; his daughter, Laura Lowe, of the home; a brother, Freddy D. Lowe and his wife, Earlene, St. Petersburg, FL; and two sisters, Ruth Hamm, Elizabethton, and Geraldine McLaughlin, Johnson City. Several nieces and nephews also survive.</p>
<p>The funeral service for Mr. Lowe will be conducted at 7:00 PM Tuesday, August 16, 2011 in the Chapel of Peace of Tetrick Funeral Home, Elizabethton, with Rev. Dennis Wilson officiating. Music will be under the direction of Jason Abernathy and Aaron Ensor. The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 PM Tuesday in the funeral home chapel prior to the service. </p>
<p>The graveside service will be conducted at 2:00 PM Wednesday, August 17, 2011 in the Happy Valley Memorial Park. Military honors will be accorded by the American Legion Post #49. Active pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. Honorary pallbearers are the officers of Platoon 4 of the Johnson City Police Department. Those wishing to attend the graveside service are asked to meet at the funeral home at 1:15 PM Wednesday to travel together in procession. </p>
<p>The family would like to extend a very special thank you to the nursing staff of the 2nd floor at Franklin Woods Hospital, the staff of Amedysis Hospice, especially Brenda Cooper, and to the staff of WalGreens of Elizabethton for the loving and devoted care given to Mr. Lowe during his illness. For those who desire, memorial contributions may be made in-lieu-of flowers to the American Cancer Society, % Lou Cooter, 415 Washington Avenue, Elizabethton, TN 37643. </p>
