Hayden M. Wiseman, 70, of Elizabethton, passed peacefully with his family by his side on Sunday, December 11, 2011, after an extended illness.
A native of Carter County, he was a son of the late Ben and Vera Ward Wiseman.
Mr. Wiseman was a graduate of Hampton High School and attended Tennessee Vocational Training Center. He was retired from Lighting Tech. Osram/Sylvania. He also worked at Wal-Mart in Elizabethton.
Mr. Wiseman was a member of Zion Baptist Church. He loved to watch old westerns and travel.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Carolyn, and a step-daughter, Jill Sproles.
Survivors include his wife, Katherine “Dee†Pierce Sproles Wiseman; two sons and daughters-in-law, Andy and Sherry Wiseman, Jonesborough, and Michael and Beth Pasch of Illinois; a step-son and his wife, Michael and Sherry Sproles, Elizabethton; a sister and brother-in-law, Judy and Ed Harmon, Boone, N.C.; and four brothers and sisters-in-law, Carroll and Linda Wiseman, Hal and Jackie Wiseman, all of Elizabethton, Buddy and Lenora Wiseman, Hampton, and Larry and Phyllis Wiseman, Boones Creek. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Graveside services for Mr. Wiseman will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday, December 14, at Happy Valley Memorial Park with the Rev. Charlie Trivette officiating. His son, Andy Wiseman, will give a Eulogy. Music will be provided by The Sounds of Victory. Honorary pallbearers will be Jimmy Wiseman, Teddy Greenwell, Teddy Miller, Cecil Wiseman, Kenny Wiseman, Bryan Wiseman, Leonard Proffitt, Tony Harmon, Michael Wiseman, Brownlow Vines, Larry McKinney, Sydney Smith, Ben Johnson, Randy Johnson, Sam Harrison, Carl Roberson, Mark Potter, Mike Sproles and Billy Pierce.
