Helen Haines Etter, 75, of Johnson City, passed away on Sunday, January 15, 2012 at Johnson City Medical Center. A native of Johnson City, she was the daughter of the late Cecil and Loraine Burleson Haines.
Helen was a member of Faith Tabernacle and the Brown Gardenia Society.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband: James Etter, Jr.; granddaughter: Megan Street; sister: Shirley Williams; brother: Cecil Haines, Jr.
Helen is survived by her daughter: Melissa Etter Street; sons: Matthew James Etter and wife Cathy, Mark Alan Etter and wife Rachel, Michael Steven Etter and wife Debbie; grandchildren: Colby Etter, Sarah Taylor, Wesley Warren, Morgan Street, Macy Etter, Madison Etter, Christopher Etter, and Amber Etter; great-grandchildren: Christian Etter, Palmer Kind, Logan Taylor, Holden Taylor and Maddie Cox; sister: Martha Haines Stine; brother: William Haines; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
The family will greet friends in the Sunrise chapel of Tetrick Funeral Services from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM Monday, January 16, 2012 and one hour at Faith Tabernacle, Johnson City, prior to a memorial service at 11:00 AM Tuesday, January 17, 2012. Pastor Harold Jones will officiate. Graveside and committal services will follow in Happy Valley Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Bob Satterfield, Jack Williams, Tim Williams, David Williams, Richard Haines, Chris Etter, Butch Bennett and Edward Stine.
