NASHVILLE — Henry F. Campbell Jr., Age 87, passed away on May 31, 2011.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry F. and Nanny Addison Campbell; his sister, Lucylle Campbell; and his wife, Doris Galloway Campbell.

He is survived by a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Dr. J.M. (Helen) Galloway.

Mr. Campbell was born in Abingdon, Virginia, on August 23, 1923 but grew up attending the Elizabethton public schools. Upon graduation from Elizabethton High School, he served in the United States Air Force during World War II.

Later he graduated from Samford University, Birmingham, Alabama, and The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, Louisville, Kentucky. He served as Minister of Religious Education in Baptist Churches in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky and Tennessee. Mr. Campbell retired from the Baptist Sunday School Board, now called Lifeway Christian Resources, Nashville, TN in 1988.

The family will receive friends at the Woodbine Funeral Home, Hickory Chapel, 5852 Nolensville Road, on Thursday, June 2, 2011, from 2:00 p.m.-6:00 p.m.

A graveside service will be conducted Friday, June 3, 2011, at 1:30 p.m. (EST) in the Happy Valley Memorial Gardens, Elizabethton, Tennessee.

There will be a celebration of his life at West Franklin Baptist Church, Franklin, Tennessee, on Sunday, June 5, 2011, at 2:00 p.m. with visitation at 1:00 p.m.
