Howard Lewis Grindstaff, 71, Elizabethton passed away Thursday, Aug. 11, 2011 in the Life Care Center of Elizabethton. A native of Johnson County, he was a son of the late Wheeler G. and Grace Church Grindstaff. He had lived most of his life in Carter County. Howard was a 1959 graduate of Unaka High School. He was a retired Millwright. He was of the Baptist Faith. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother, Lowell Grindtaff.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Keith & Debbie Grindstaff, Elizabethton; a daughter, Angela Richardson, Elizabethton; his grandchildren; Jason & Jessica Grindstaff, Johnson City, Adam Grindstaff, Elizabethton, Tiffany Richardson and Jesse Richardson of Elizabethton; two brothers; Dean Grindstaff and wife Geraldine and Doug Grindstaff all of Johnson City and one sister; Pansy Greer, Lynchburg, Va.
Graveside Services were conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday in Happy Valley Memorial Park with the Rev. Charlie Biggs officiating. Pallbearers were: Jason Grindtaff, Adam Grindstaff, Ronnie McClure and Miles McCloud. Condolences may be e-mailed to mfc@chartertn.net. Memorial Funeral Chapel was in charge of arrangements.
