Surrounded by love, Isaac Lincoln “Squeak” “Link” Nidiffer, 72, Elizabethton, went to be with his Lord on Tuesday, August 7th, at Vanderbilt University Medical Center after a courageous and brave battle with MDS and Leukemia.

Son of the late Andy and Josephine Nidiffer, he was a native and life long resident of Carter County.

He is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Carolyn; daughter, Katrina Nidiffer, of Nashville; Sisters, Kathryn Collins and Joann Perkins and husband, Jack; Brother, Jay Nidiffer and wife, Katie; and special cousin, Jan Showalter. Several nephews, nieces and cousins also survive.

With a passion for young people, Isaac spent his entire adult life teaching, mentoring, inspiring and ministering to young people in Northeast Tennessee. He was a Youth Choir & Youth Director for 25+ years; Retired Mathematics Teacher after 35+ years in Kingsport City Schools; Most recently Associate Professor of Mathematics at Milligan College 12+ years. He was a member of the choir at Pleasant Beach Baptist Church, where he faithfully attended.

He was a loving husband, father, brother, and loyal friend.

The Celebration of Life service for Isaac will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, August 11, 2012, in Memorial Funeral Chapel with Pastor Bobby Stout officiating. Music will be provided by Greg Ruston, Tawana Stout and Katrina Nidiffer.

Interment will follow at Happy Valley Memorial Park. Active Pallbearers, who are requested to assemble at the funeral home at 1:55 p.m. Saturday, will be: Bill Cline, Junior Stanley, Alex Campbell, Richard Thompson, Ken Nidiffer, Vernon Hardin, Lawrence Pierce and Clarence Reed. Honorary Pall Bearers: Bill & Phyllis Cline, Keith & Drema Garland, Alex & Brittney Campbell, John Kemp, Stacy Sams, Eddie Nidiffer, Alan DeJoode, Bill & Phyllis Gray, Tony & Linda Bowers; Unaka High School Class of 1958, Dobyns-Bennett Math Department 1976-1997, Milligan College Faculty, Staff and Students, Nurses of Kingsport Hematology Clinic, Nurses of Holston Valley Hospital-Wilcox Hall 3rd Floor, Nurses of Vanderbilt University Medical Center 8 North & South, Dr. Stephen Strickland, Dr. Kenny Hopland, Pleasant Beach Baptist Church Family, Nashville friends, faithful young prayer warriors Brogen & Braylon Campbell, and Alex Sams.

The family will receive friends from 12 noon to time of service. Friends may also call at the family residence.
