Mr. J. D. Harris, 84, of Elizabethton went home to be with the Lord, Tuesday, January 11, 2011 at Ivy Hall Nursing Home following an extended illness. A native of Rutherford, NC he was the son of the late Frank Benjamin and Josie Bobo Harris. Mr. Harris was a farmer.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Annabelle Craig Harris. Survivors include a son, David Harris, Winston-Salem, NC; three sisters, Pauline Harris, Ruth Younger and Vera Harris, all of Chesnee, SC; three brothers, John Harris and wife Doris, Alexandria, VA, Cleo Harris, Mt. Holly, NC and Frank Harris, Huntersville, NC; two nieces, Alice Taylor and Natosha Reddick, both of Elizabethton and nephew, Steven Wagner, Elizabethton. Several other nieces and nephews also survive.
Graveside service for Mr. J. D. Harris will be conducted at 1:00 P.M. Saturday, January 15, 2011 in Happy Valley Memorial Park with Rev. Jeannette Clark officiating. Everyone will meet at the cemetery at 12:50 P.M. on Saturday.
