Mr. James Edward “Buster” Morgan, 75, of Elizabethton, TN, passed away on Sunday, May 26, 2013 at his residence, following an extended illness. He was born in Carter County to the late Willard D. and Ina Love Morgan. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Darrell W. Morgan; and a sister, Pansy Hurley. Mr. Morgan was a retired fabrication shop foreman with Accurate Machine and attended Southside Free Will Baptist Church. He was an avid Nascar fan, Braves fan and car enthusiast and he loved George Jones. Survivors include two daughters, Genia Whitehead and husband Grady, Elizabethton; and Amanda Mosley and husband William, Unicoi; two sons, Ricky Morgan and wife Kim and Wiley Morgan and wife Glenda, all of Johnson City; eight grandchildren, Brandi Morgan, Michelle Whitehead, Lance Whitehead, Brandon Whitehead, Ricky Morgan, Shelbie Morgan, Morgan Mosley and Kari Mosley; three great grandchildren, Emma Markland, Heath Whitehead and Aiden Morgan; mother of his children and life-long friend, Janet Morgan; one brother, Bobby Ray Morgan, Washington State; two sisters, Marie Jackson, Virginia; and Ruth Davis, South Dakota; and a special friend, Billie Tesner. Several nieces and nephews also survive. The funeral service for Mr. Morgan will be conducted at 7:00 PM on Wednesday, May 29, 2013 in the Riverside Chapel of Tetrick Funeral Home, Elizabethton, with Rev. Steve Burleson, officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:30 PM – 7:00 PM in the funeral home chapel, prior to the service on Wednesday. The graveside service will be conducted at 10:00 AM on Thursday, May 30, 2013 at Happy Valley Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. Those wishing to attend the graveside service are asked to meet at the funeral home at 9:15 AM on Thursday, to go in procession.
