PENSACOLA, Fla. — James Franklin Farmer, 74, passed away May 22, 2013 in Pensacola, FL. He was born June 29, 1938, to the late Idus and Ruby Farmer in Atlanta, GA. Jim graduated from Roosevelt High School in Atlanta and received a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Georgia. He served in the US Air Force from 1957-60. Jim worked in accounting for several companies before retiring from Boise Cascade Corporation in 1995 in Boise, ID. He sailed down the Pacific coast of the US before moving to Elizabethton. He played and served as captain on several META tennis teams, was a coordinator for the Mixed Doubles League and developed a Tuesday Social Tennis program. He moved to Pensacola in 2004. He also enjoyed mountain-climbing, skiing, and had a commercial pilot’s license. Survivors include his wife, Jane; son, Mark (Brenda); and two grandchildren, Drew and Beth. A Military Graveside service will be conducted at 2 PM Saturday, June 15, 2013 at Happy Valley Memorial Park in Elizabethton, TN.
