Jeanette Crowe Mottern, 79, Elizabethton, passed away Friday, April 12, 2013, in the Sycamore Shoals Hospital.
A native of Carter County, she was a daughter of the late Ike and Eva Hardin Crowe. Jeanette was a 1951 graduate of Elizabethton High School. She was retired from Sprint after 48 years of service. She first started with the United Inter Mountain Telephone Company. After her retirement she worked at Berry Patch Day Care and East Side Day Care.
She was a member of East Side Baptist Church, where she had served as Pianist for several years.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene Mottern; a son: Keith Mottern; Two Great Grandchildren; and a sister: Velma Hilbert.
Survivors include a granddaughter: Sarah Nicole Mottern Dougherty, Elizabethton; Three Great Grandsons: Mark , Zachary and Kaden Dougherty; One Sister: Paula Rogers, Elizabethton; Several Nieces & Nephews; Her special friends: Robina Hall, Betty Cassida, Betty Woods, Nancy & Michelle Berry; Her special dog, Millie.
Funeral Services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Monday, April 15, 2013 in Memorial Funeral Chapel with Mr. Randle Johnson, Minister, officiating.
Interment will follow in Happy Valley Memorial Park. Active Pallbearers will be: Joey Hilbert, Mark Bailey, Matt Bailey, Justin Bailey, Daniel Dougherty and Mark Dougherty. Honorary Pallbearers will be: Danny Hilbert, Lisa Wandell, Zachery Dougherty, Kaden Dougherty, Kevin Rogers, Stevie Grindstaff and Bob Rainbolt.
The family will receive friends from 12 Noon Monday until the service. Friends may also visit the family and the residence of Ruthie Mottern Jones, 2850 Bob Little Road # 3.
