Jeannette White, 68, of Elizabethton, passed away following an extended illness on Friday, December 3, 2010, at her residence. A native of Carter County, she was the daughter of the late Conley and Monnie Bailey Hartley. Ms. White was a member of Lynn Valley Baptist Church and loved to garden. She was a former employee of the Carter County Courthouse and worked in housekeeping.
Survivors include two daughters, Connie Risdon and husband, Jeff, and Tammy Birchfield and husband, David; two sons, Alan Dale Taylor and girlfriend, Brenda Winters, and Randy Taylor and wife, Tonia; two sisters, Joann Taylor and husband, Horton, and Joyce Kemp and husband, Johnny; six grandchildren, Coty Taylor and wife, Ashley, Dwight Birchfield, Sara Greenwell and husband, Michael, Brittany Taylor, Brodey Taylor and Colton Grindstaff; three great-grandchildren, Breeanna Taylor, Zoey Taylor and Caitlin Taylor; and two special friends, Pat Proffitt and Ernie Reese, all of Elizabethton. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
The funeral service for Ms. White will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday, December 6, in the Riverside Chapel of Tetrick Funeral Home, Elizabethton, with Rev. Dennis Wilson officiating. The family will receive friends in the funeral home chapel from 1 until 2 p.m. Monday, prior to the service, or at the residence at any time. Interment will follow the funeral service at Happy Valley Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be Coty Taylor, Brodey Taylor, Randy Taylor, Michael Greenwell, Jesse Teal and Jeff Risdon.
