Mr. Jerry Wayne Shell, Sr., 63, of Elizabethton, passed away on Saturday, July 20, 2013, at the Johnson City Medical Center Hospital. dHe was the son of the late Leon Shell and Ruth Freeman Shell Dugger. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife Audrey Shell. Mr. Shell was a native of Carter County and the owner/operator of his own construction company, member of the 77th Chapter of Southern Cruisers and past member of Rolling Thunder. Jerry attended Eastside Freewill Baptist Church. He is survived by two daughters, Sheila Guyn and her husband Patrick of Johnson City and Casey Shell of Elizabethton; two sons, Jerry Wayne Shell, Jr. of Roan Mountain and Evan Shell of Johnson City; three grandchildren, Amber Guyn, Jessica Shell and Justin Shell; and two sisters. Several nieces and nephews also survive. The funeral service for Mr. Shell will be conducted at 7:00 PM on Wednesday, July 24, 2013, in the Chapel of Peace of Tetrick Funeral Home, Elizabethton, with Evangelist James Hughes officiating. The family will receive friends in the funeral home chapel from 5:00 until 7:00 PM Wednesday prior to the funeral. The graveside service and interment will be conducted at 11:00 AM on Thursday, July 25, 2013, in Happy Valley Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be Randall Wilson, Mike Wilson, Patrick Guyn, Evan Shell, David Osborne, and Rick Guinn. Jerry Wayne Shell, Jr. will serve as an honorary pallbearer. Those wishing to attend are asked to meet at the funeral home at 10:15 AM, on Thursday, to go in procession to the cemetery.
