Joyce E. McKinney, 74, of Roan Mountain, TN, passed away on Wednesday, July 10, 2013 at Sycamore Shoals Hospital. She was born in Lime Kiln, Maryland to the late Leon and Mary Dean Soper Burger. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her step sons, Jessie McClenny, Jr. and Randy McKinney.
Mrs. McKinney was a homemaker and loved to cook. She attended the Church of God.
Survivors include her husband, Walter “Lee” McKinney, of the home; two sisters, Leonora Naille, Roan Mountain; and Diana Tibbs, Frederick, MD; two step-sons, Henry Mclenny, Pasadena, MD; and David Lee McKinney, Mechanicsville, MD; ten step grandchildren. Several nieces and nephews also survive, including a special grand niece, Christa Naille.
The funeral service for Mrs. McKinney will be conducted at 8:00 PM on Friday, July 12, 2013 in the Rhododendron Chapel of Tetrick Funeral Home, Roan Mountain with Rev. Mike & Anna Lusk officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM in the funeral home chapel, prior to the service on Friday.
The graveside service will be conducted at 12:00 PM on Saturday, July 13, 2013 at Happy Valley Memorial Park. Honorary pallbearers will be Donald Naille, Dillard Street, Roy Street, Lanny Hughes, Brandon Dugger and Adam Dugger. Those wishing to attend the graveside service are asked to meet at the cemetery at 11:50 AM on Saturday.
