Judy Kaye Franklin, 73, formerly of Elizabethton, Tenn., passed away Saturday, September 14, 2013, at the Center on Aging and Health, Erwin, Tenn., following an extended illness. A native of Elizabethton, Tenn., she was the daughter of the late Kay and Aileen Heaton Franklin. Ms. Franklin was a member of Grace Baptist Church, Elizabethton. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her grandparents, Joe and Mae Heaton, and an aunt, Lela Carden. Survivors include a brother, Wayne Franklin and wife Julia, Erwin, Tenn., and cousins, Sherrill Heaton, Bill Heaton and Ann Heaton. A private ceremony for Ms. Franklin was held Tuesday, September 17, at Happy Valley Memorial Park.
