Mr. Kail D. Hazelwood, 56, 2820 Riverside Drive, Knoxville, TN went home to be with the Lord, Saturday, March 19, 2011 at Fort Sanders Regional Medical Center, Knoxville, following an extended illness. A native of Carter County, he is the son of Mrs. Jean White, Elizabethton and the late Carl Hazelwood. Mr. Hazelwood was a 1972 graduate of Hampton High School.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Carolyn Caudill, of the home; two daughters, Michelle Dickerson and husband Scott, Hampton and Amy Guilland and husband Jai, Greenville, SC; grandchildren, Erin McNeil, Gavin Shockley, Colin Shockley, Alexandria Guilland and Eli Guilland; a great-granddaughter, Addisyn McNeil; a brother, Carl Lee Hazelwood, Hampton; a nephew, Chris Hazelwood and wife Sylvia, Hampton and his step-father, Jerry White, Elizabethton.
The funeral service for Mr. Kail D. Hazelwood will be conducted at 7:00 PM on Monday, March 21, 2011 in the Chapel of Peace of Tetrick Funeral Home, Elizabethton, with Mr. Dwayne Calhoun, minister, officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00 – 7:00 PM on Monday in the Chapel of Peace and at the residence of his mother, Jean White, 1935 Siam Road, Elizabethton, at anytime.
The graveside service and interment will be conducted at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, March 22, 2011 at Happy Valley Memorial Park. Everyone will meet at the funeral home at 10:15 AM to go in procession to the cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Mike Collins, James “Bucky†Greenwell, Todd Montgomery, Chris Blevins and Billy Fenner. Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Ernest Waller, Dr. Jeffrey Brown, Dr. Gregory Midas, Dr. Richard Grapski, Dr. Chase Wilson, Bill Stanbery and Dale Fletcher.
