Mrs. Kathie J. Wilson, 38, of 175 Earl Avenue, Elizabethton, passed away on Monday, April 4, 2011 as a result of injuries received in an automobile accident. She was the daughter of Jackie Honeycutt of Hampton, and the late Rev .Danny Phillips. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her grandfather, Jack Payne. She was born in Elizabethton. She was of the Baptist faith and worked at Hampton Pharmacy as a Pharmacy Technician. Her special mission in life was to care for her son and help him further his interest in various sports.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by her husband, Charles Stanley Wilson and her son, C.J. Wilson, both of the home; a sister and brother-in-law, Kristy and Kirk Willyard; a brother and sister-in-law, Jason and Monica Phillips; a special nephew, Sammy Phillips; nephew, Mason Wilson; a niece, Bella Pierce, all of Elizabethton; her grandmother, Betty Payne, Hampton; and aunt and uncle Sandra and Carl Montgomery, Hampton. Her special friends at Hampton Pharmacy and the Hampton High School Class of 1990 also survive.
The funeral service for Mrs. Wilson will be conducted at 8:00 PM on Thursday, April 7, 2011 in the Tetrick Funeral Home, Chapel of Peace, Elizabethton with Rev. Bruce Hendrich officiating. The family will receive friends in the funeral home chapel from 6:00 – 8:00 PM Thursday prior to the service, or at the home at other times.
The graveside service and interment will be conducted on Friday, April 8, 2011 at 1:00 PM at Happy Valley Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be Kirk Willyard, Jarred McKinney, Chris Wilson, Tee Blevins, Dana Blevins, and Josh Blevins. Honorary pallbearers will be Carl Montgomery, Lanny Peters, Earl Honeycutt, Keith Blevins, Glenn Wilson, Keith Wilson, Larry Wilson and Jerry Wilson. Those wishing to attend are asked to meet at the funeral home at 12:15 PM on Friday to go in procession to the cemetery.
