Kimberly Ward Bowers, 54, Elizabethton, passed away on Sunday, May 13, 2012.
Kim was born on March 8, 1958 to W.G. “Dub†Ward, Elizabethton, and the late Vivian Ellis Ward. In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by her grandparents, Paul and Hallie Ellis and Everett and Sally Ward, and an uncle, Norman “Dump†Ellis.
Kim was a member of East Side Christian Church.
In addition to her father, Kim leaves behind one son, Adam Bowers, Elizabethton; a brother, Tim Ward and his wife, Donna, a niece, Holly Hill, two nephews, Brannon Britt and his wife, Christa, all of Elizabethton, and Mark Ward and his wife, Malarie, Fort Campbell, Ky.; two great-nieces and one great-nephew.
The funeral service for Kim will be conducted at 7 p.m. Thursday, May 17, in the Chapel of Peace of Tetrick Funeral Home, Elizabethton, with Mr. Randall Johnson, minister, officiating. Music will be under the direction of Mary and John Smith. The family will receive friends in the funeral home chapel from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Thursday, prior to the service, and at the home, 903 Charlie Street, Elizabethton, at other times. The graveside service and interment will be conducted at 10 a.m. Friday, May 18, at Happy Valley Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be Dillon Andes, Jacob Slagle and the Deacons and Elders of East Side Christian Church. Honorary pallbearers will be the Joy Class of East Side Christian Church. Those wishing to attend are asked to meet at the funeral home at 9:15 a.m. Friday to go in procession to the cemetery.
