Larry Adair Carver, 68, of Johnson City, passed away Saturday, December 1, 2012 at his home.

He was a native of Johnson City and the son of the late Martin Carlos and Pauline Genevia Nave Carver. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his two sisters, Phyllis Holden Carver and Deanna Gail Carver.

He served in the United States Army and received the National Defense Service Medal and Good Conduct Medal. He was retired from East Tennessee State University after twenty five years of service. He was a proud, life-time member of the NRA. He loved hunting and fishing.

Survivors include his brother, Carlos Carver and his wife Neisha of Johnson City; several nieces and nephews; a very special nephew, who was more of a son, Guy Holden and his wife Tina, of Gray; a very special friend and neighbor, Coy Phipps of Johnson City.

The graveside service for Mr. Carver will be conducted at 3:00 PM, on Wednesday, December 5, 2012, at Happy Valley Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be Guy Holden, Michael Morton, Joseph Yates, Marcus Arnett and Robbie Reilening. Honorary pallbearers will be Holden Yates, Coy Phipps and Doug Phipps. Military honors will be accorded by the Carter County Color Guard.
