Leonard Lee Pickens Jr. 28, Elizabethton, passed away Tuesday May 10, 2011.
He was a native of Jackson, Tennessee, but had lived a number of years in Elizabethton. He was a 2001 graduate of Elizabethton High School. He was employed with the pipe crew of Summer-Taylor. He was of the Baptist faith.
He was preceded in death by his Maternal Grandfather, James Smith; an uncle & Aunt, Walter & Beth Smith.
Survivors include his mother & step-father: Marion & Ronald Hayes, of the home; His father & step-mother: Leonard Pickens Sr. & wife, Carolyn, Johnson City; Two Sisters: Nicole Cannon and husband, Jason, and Brittany Hayes, all of Elizabethton; His Step-Brother: Ronnie Hamilton and wife, Tammy, Johnson City; Two Step-Sisters: Robin Bowman and husband, Eddie, Johnson City, and Jodi Pugh; His Maternal Grandmother: Barbara Smith, Elizabethton, His Paternal Grandparents: Raymond & Helen Pickens, Stantonville, Tenn.; One Aunt, Connie Wilson and husband, Don, Adamsville, Tenn.; and Two Uncles: Raymond Pickens and wife, Felicia, Piney Flats, and Mark Pickens, Manhattan, Kansas; Four Nephews: Logan, Jacob, Connor and Dalton Cannon.
Funeral Services will be conducted at 7:30 p.m. Friday in Memorial Funeral Chapel with Mr. Kirk Langston, Minister, officiating.
Graveside Service and Interment will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in Happy Valley Memorial Park. Music will be provided by Mr. Scott Reynolds. Active Pallbearers, who are requested to assemble at the funeral home at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, will be: Jason Cannon, Michael Fincher, Fred Smith, Raymond Pickens III, Anthony Hill and Ronnie Hamilton.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Friday in the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the funeral home to help defray expenses.
Family and friends will assemble at the funeral home at 9:30 a.m. Saturday to go to the cemetery.
