Leroy C. Johnson, 75, Elizabethton passed away Tuesday, August 13, 2013 in the James H. Quillen VA Medical Center. A native of Carter County, he was a son of the late Virginia Johnson. He was a 1956 graduate of Hampton High School where he was on the Football Team. He attended East Tennessee State College. He was a retired employee of Snap-On-Tools, Elizabethton. Mr. Johnson attended heartland Fellowship. He was preceded in death by a daughter Alicia Renee Johnson and a brother, Danny Glover. Survivors include Two Daughters: Stephanie Johnson and Deanna Johnson, both of Elizabethton. One Son: Fred Johnson, Elizabethton. Seven Grandchildren: Teddy Orton, Craig Johnson, Troy Johnson, Zachary Johnson, Marisa Johnson, Hope Irick and Sara Fisher. Four Great Grandchildren. Three Brothers: Steve Glover, Paul Glover and John Glover. Several Nieces & Nephews. Funeral Services will be conducted at 7 p.m. Friday in Memorial Funeral Chapel with Pastor Marvin Slagle and Pastor Hobert Bradshaw officiating. Entombment Service will be conducted at 12 noon Friday, August 16, 2013 in the Mausoleum of Peace, Happy Valley Memorial Park. Active Pallbearers who are requested to assemble at the funeral home at 11:20 a.m. Friday will be: Jeff Hyder, Hubert Coleman, Alex Yates, Jonathan Pleasant, Codie Greer, Curtis Glover, Lester Bennett and Schyler Buchanan. Honorary Pallbearers will be: Ted Vines, Slim Roy Wilson, Steve Gouge, and Roy Blevins. Military Honors will be provided by the American Legion and the Tennessee national Guard. The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. Friday in the funeral home. Family and friends will assemble at the funeral home at 11:20 a.m. Friday to go to the cemetery.
