Naomi Johnson, 93, 402 Cherry Street, Greeneville, passed away Tuesday, June 28, 2011, following a brief illness.
She was born in Beech Creek, West Virginia, but grew up in Johnson City. She was the daughter of the late James Alvin Johnson and Sarah Elizabeth Dillion Johnson.
After living in Illinois for 29 years, she moved back to Johnson City in 1987.
Ms. Johnson worked as a machine operator for GTE Automatic and Leon-Ferenbach and was a member of Trinity Assembly of God, where she had been a longtime member of the board of directors. If ever an angel walked the earth, it was surely Naomi.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Clarence and Charles Johnson; and an infant son, Sam Roper.
Ms. Johnson is survived by two nieces, Sandra Reed, Greeneville, and Francis Johnson, Johnson City; and several great nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be held Saturday, July 2, 2011, at 11:00 AM at Trinity Assembly of God with Pastors Ed Jefferies and Ken Jefferies officiating.
The family will receive friends prior to the service from 10:00 to 11:00 AM at the church.
Graveside service and Interment will follow at Happy Valley Memorial Park, Elizabethton. Pallbearers will be men of the adult class of Trinity Assembly of God.
