Louise Odom Hathaway, 73, Elizabethton, died Sunday, April 21, 2013, at Johnson City Medical Center. A native of Carter County, she was a daughter of the late Brownlow Blevins and Sylvia Odom Hughes. Louise was a 1958 graduate of Cloudland High School and was a homemaker. She was a member of Valley Forge Free Will Baptist Church and the Young at Heart Sunday School Class In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Toney Mack Hathaway, July 14, 2003, and three brothers, Glen, G.W. and Lewis “Buddy” Hughes. Survivors include her daughter, Angelia Hathaway, of the home; two sisters, Joan Markland and Shirley Miller, both of Roan Mountain; and three brothers, Harlan Hughes of Indiana, Raymond Hughes of North Carolina and Ronnie Hughes of Mountain City. Several nieces and nephews also survive. A Service to Celebrate the Life of Louise Hathaway will be conducted at 7 p.m. Thursday, April 25, at Valley Forge Free Will Baptist Church with the Rev. Randy Johnson and the Rev. Mark Potter officiating. Music will be provided by Robin Montgomery, Annette LeVeau and the Carr Family. Graveside services and interment will be at 1 p.m. Friday, April 26, at Happy Valley Memorial Park. Active pallbearers, who are requested to assemble at the church at 6:50 p.m. Thursday and also at the funeral home at 12:20 p.m. Friday, will be Kelly Green, Kelly Green Jr., Greg Hathaway, Carl Roberson, Sam Harrison, Bobby James II, Kelly Hyder and Loren Harris. Honorary pallbearers will be Charlie Miller, the Rev. Perry Markland, Ben Johnson, Bobby Lovelace and her church family. The family would like to express a special “Thank You” to the Young at Heart Sunday School Class, Carl Roberson, the Rev. Mark Potter and the Rev. Randy Johnson for all their love and care shown to Louise. The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Valley Forge Free Will Baptist Church. Friends may also visit the family at the residence. Family and friends will assemble at the funeral home at 12:20 p.m. Friday to go to the cemetery.
