Mrs. Lucille Scott, of Elizabethton, TN, passed away Friday, October 25, 2013, in Sycamore Shoals Hospital following a brief illness. A native of Boone, NC, she was the daughter of the late Walter L. and Hazel Dancey Wilcox Cooke. Mrs. Scott was a Control Manager with Bemberg/Beaunit Corporation for fifty-two years. She had also been a columnist with the Elizabethton Star. She was a member of First Baptist Church, Elizabethton, where she was a member of the Church Choir. She was a founding member of the Elizabethton Choral Club and served as on officer in the Women’s Golf Club at the Elizabethton Golf Course. Lucille was accomplished in needlepoint and was an avid gardener who loved working outside around her home. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William R. Scott; two brothers, Walter C. Cooke and Michael L. Cooke; a sister, Mary Alice Nichols; and a nephew, James Nichols. Survivors include a brother, Mack Arthur Cooke and wife, Nancy, Elizabethton, TN; two sisters-in-law, Jean Cooke, Johnson City, TN, and Carol Cooke, Las Vegas, NV; a brother-in-law, Mack Nichols; and a special friend, Harold Turbyfield, Elizabethton, TN. Several nieces and nephews also survive. Graveside service for Mrs. Lucille Scott will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Monday, October 28, 2013, in Happy Valley Memorial Park with Rev. Gary Edwards officiating. Active pallbearers will be Ray Campbell, Travis Orloff, Vince Davis, Robbie Cooke, Mack Cooke Jr. and Carter Honeycutt. Honorary pallbearers will be Tim Orloff, Stephen Freiheit, Brent Alexander, Ed Russell and Stuart Cooke. Everyone is asked to meet at Tetrick Funeral Home Elizabethton at 1:15 P.M. on Monday to go in procession to the cemetery.
