Lucille “Bo†Taylor, 85, of Elizabethton, passed away on Wednesday, April 20, 2011, at her home.
She was the daughter of the late Ray and Lottie Peters Lowe and was born in Carter County. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Brooks Taylor, in 1990; a daughter, Donna Carrier; two grandchildren, Brock Carrier and Heather Carrier; and three siblings, Ray Lowe Jr., Ruby Christian and Pearl Hardin.
Mrs. Taylor was retired from NARC; she was a member of Union Hill Free Will Baptist for over fifty years.
She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Karen and Olan Hardin; a son-in-law and daughter-in-law, Eugene and Freida Carrier, all of Elizabethton; four grandsons, Wade Hardin and his wife, Sarah, Jonesborough, Shane Hardin and his wife, Laura, Shannon Carrier and his wife, Amanda, and Matthew Carrier, all of Elizabethton; three granddaughters, Brooke Shanks and her husband, Daryl, April Sams and her husband, Gary, Heather Stout and her husband, Billy, all of Elizabethton; sixteen great-grandchildren; a wonderful sister-in-law, Billie Jean Lowe, Elizabethton; two nephews, Wayne Christian and Dale Bourne; two nieces, Polly Andes and Sharon Pierce; a god-child, Lucy Shankles and a special friend, Sue Turbyfill. She is also survived by all of her cousins and friends whom she loved dearly.
The family will receive friends at Tetrick Funeral Home, Riverside Chapel, Elizabethton from 1:00-2:15 PM on Saturday, April 23, and at the home at anytime. Before leaving for the cemetery, two congregational songs will be sung.
The graveside service for Mrs. Taylor will be conducted on Saturday, April 23, at 2:30 PM at Happy Valley Memorial Park with Rev. Roger Haley and Rev. Richard Estep officiating. Active pallbearers will be grandsons.
