Marjorie Ann “Margie” McKinney, age 80 of 519 Bravo St., Elizabethton passed away Saturday, August 27, 2011 in the Sycamore Shoals Hospital following an extended illness.

A native of Elizabethton, she was the daughter of the late Beulah Baines Buckles. She was of the Baptist Faith, was a homemaker, an excellent cook and caregiver.

In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by an infant daughter and two great grandchildren, Austin and Madison Godfrey.

Survivors include her husband, David A. McKinney, of the home, three sons, Donald Ray “D.R.” McKinney, David “Doc” McKinney and wife, Janie, all of Elizabethton, Dale Allen McKinney, Johnson City, one daughter Debbie McKinney Berry and husband, Keith, Elizabethton, three grandchildren, Sara Berry Wagner and husband, Stephen, Elizabethton, Leslie Ann Godfrey and husband, Jonathan, Knoxville, Hollie Jo Bulla and husband, John, Elizabethton, two great grandchildren, Lawson Wagner and Marley Wagner, one sister, Charlotte Dalton, Elkhart, IN, two nieces and one nephew also survive.

The funeral service for Mrs. McKinney will be conducted on Monday, August 29, 2011 at 7 P.M. in the Riverside Chapel of Tetrick Funeral Home, Elizabethton with Rev. Caroll Melton and Rev. Doug Hartley officiating. The family will receive friends in the Riverside Chapel on Monday, from 5 P.M. until 7 P.M. prior to the funeral service or friends may call at the residence at other times.

The graveside service and interment will be conducted at 2 P.M. Tuesday, August 30, 2011 in Happy Valley Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be Stephen Wagner, Jonathan Godfrey, John Bulla, Keith Berry, Mike Melton and Steve Melton. Honorary pallbearers will be Chris Tidwell, Dirk Tidwell, Estel Kirby, Jess Nidiffer, Bob Owens, Gary Johnson, Wayne Johnson, James Rash and Matt Lewis. Those who wish to attend the graveside service are ask to meet at the funeral home at 1 P.M. Tuesday, to go in procession to the cemetery.
