Mary B. Cordell, 88, of Roan Mountain, passed away Wednesday, February 15, 2012, at Life Care Center of Elizabethton.
Ms. Cordell was a daughter of the late Will and Nellie Tipton Cordell. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Ronnie Cordell; three sisters, Ann Prebich, Camaleen Hughes and Grace Whaley; and two brothers, James Cordell and Earl Cordell.
Survivors include five nieces, Debbie Head and Connie Holder, both of Elizabethton, Dreama Kelly of New Mexico, Kathy Baker, Piney Flats, and Sandy Hutchison of South Carolina; two nephews, Larry Cordell, Johnson City, and Tommy Cordell of Jonesborough; and longtime companion, Carroll Ray Street.
The committal service and interment for Ms. Cordell will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, February 18, at Happy Valley Memorial Park with Rev. Mark Birchfield and Rev. Ronnie Campbell officiating. Active pallbearers will be Frank Presnell, Rick Birchfield, Billy Bowers, Denton Birchfield, Gene Putman and Lynn Humphrey. Honorary pallbearers will be Roger Palmer, Leslie Head and Joey McKinny. Everyone is asked to meet at Tetrick Funeral Home at noon Saturday to go in procession to the cemetery.
