Mrs. Mary Tennie Campbell, 94, of Hampton, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, January 11, 2011, in the Sycamore Shoals Hospital.
She was the daughter of the late Robert and Sarah Jane Yates Bise and was born in Castlewood, VA, although she lived most of her life in Carter County.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death her husband, Lloyd Charles Campbell, April 5, 1995; and by seven brothers and two sisters.
Mrs. Campbell was homemaker and also worked as a seamstress. She loved to quilt, work puzzles, crochet and work in the garden. She was a member of Hampton Christian Church.
She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Jane C. and Danny Story, Johnson City; four sons and three daughters-in-law, Errol L. and Helen Campbell, Hampton, David R. Campbell, Hampton, Jeffrey G. and Nancy Campbell, Elizabethton, Michael and Vickie Campbell, Johnson City; two brothers, Wilford Bise, Hampton, Clifton Bise, Jasper, GA; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
A private graveside service for Mrs. Campbell will be conducted on Saturday, January 15, 2011, at Happy Valley Memorial Park with Mr. Dwayne Calhoun, minister, officiating. Active pallbearers will be her children. Honorary pallbearers will be friends and neighbors and the members of Hampton Christian Church.
The family will visit with friends and family at the Hampton Christian Church from 1:00-3:00 P.M. on Saturday, January 15, 2011.
