Melissa Gail Potter Griffin, 43, Garden Road, Elizabethton, passed away on Sunday, October 27, 2013, at her residence. Melissa was born in Quantico, Virginia, to Linda Lou Brewer Potter, of Elizabethton, and the late Richard Lee Potter. Mrs. Griffin was employed with Pet Dairy Corporation as an accounts receivable clerk. She was of the Christian-Baptist faith. Survivors in addition to her mother, include one daughter, Haley Griffin, and one son, Cody Griffin, both of the home; two brothers, Erik Potter and Brian Potter, both of Elizabethton; two half brothers, Travis Rasnick and Jason Rasnick, and one half sister, Candi Rasnick, all of Elizabethton. The funeral service for Mrs. Griffin will be conducted at 7:00 PM on Thursday, October 31, 2013, at Tetrick Funeral Home, Elizabethton, with Pastor Scott Hayes officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM-7:00 PM in the funeral home chapel, prior to the service on Thursday, or at the residence of an uncle, John Blackburn, 113 O’Brien Place, Elizabethton, at other times. The graveside service will be conducted at 1:00 PM on Friday, November 1, 2013, at Happy Valley Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. Those wishing to attend the graveside service are asked to meet at 12:15 PM at Tetrick Funeral Home, Elizabethton, on Friday to go in procession.
