Mrs. Mildred Johnson Younce, 87, of Elizabethton died Friday, December 30, 2011 in the Johnson City Medical Center Hospital.
A native of Reese, NC she was the daughter of the late Charlie and Bessie Brewer Johnson. Mrs. Younce retired as a sales clerk and manager of Fred Davis Jewelers in Elizabethton after forty years of employment. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Dennis G. Younce on February 17, 2010; a son, D. Randall Younce; a brother, John Dean Johnson and a sister, Alice Johnson Combs.
Survivors include a special daughter-in-law, Tamara Younce Hathcoat, Atlanta, GA; two brothers, Lloyd H. Johnson and his wife Glenna, Jefferson, NC and Carl M. Johnson and his wife Wanda, Vilas, NC. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral service for Mrs. Mildred Johnson Younce will be conducted at 1:00 P.M. Monday, January 2, 2012 in the Sunset Chapel of Hathaway-Percy Funeral and Cremation Services with Dr. Joe Sorah officiating. Music will be under the direction of Mr. Elmer Sams, Jr. and Ms. Debbie Teague.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from Noon until 1:00 P.M. on Monday prior to the service. Committal and entombment will follow the funeral service in Happy Valley Memorial Park, Mausoleum of Peace. Active pallbearers will be selected from family and friends.
