Norbert Melvin Jenquin, 84, 200 N. East Street, Elizabethton, passed away Sunday, May 13, 2012, at the residence of his daughter, Laura Tester.
A native of Green Bay, Wisconsin, he was a son of the late Melvin & Myrtle Boulanger Jenquin. He had lived in Elizabethton for the past 36 years. Mr. Jenquin was a retired employee of Elizabethton Herb & Metal. He served in the United States Army during World War II. He was a member of First Christian Church of Elizabethton and the American Legion, Bristol, Tenn.
He loved playing cards and in his younger years loved to play the Accordion.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife: Barbara McCranie Jenquin, November 9, 2007; a son: Ken Jenquin; two Grandchildren: Matthew Stines and Wendy Johnson; a brother: Don Jenquin; and a sister: Carol Montague.
Survivors include Four Daughters: Diane (Bob) Johnson, Wabeno, Wisconsin, Peggy Bennett, Little Suamico, Wisconsin, Debbie (David) Woods and Laura Tester, all of Elizabethton; One Son: Steve (Theresa) Jenquin, Green Bay, Wisconsin; 13 Grandchildren; 12 Great Grandchildren; One Sister: Veryl (Roger) Novitski, Pulaski, Wisconsin; One Brother: Keith (Mary Ann) Jenquin, Seymour, Wisconsin; Several Nieces & Nephews; Three Brothers-in-Law: Dan Montague, Bill McCranie and Donald Wilson; His special friends: Emily Brewer and Les Grindstaff.
Funeral Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday, May 17, 2012, in Memorial Funeral Chapel with Mr. Jeff Campbell, Minister, officiating.
Interment will follow in Happy Valley Memorial Park. Music will be provided by Ardith Sheffield, Soloist. Active Pallbearers will be: Jerry Mock, Darryl Baird, Jeff Carr, Jeff Fuller, Jason Fuller and Eric Rucker. Honorary Pallbearer will be Earl Honeycutt. Military Honors will be provided by the Carter County Honor Guard.
The family will receive friends from 12 Noon Thursday until the service hour. Friends may also call at the residence of a daughter: Laura Tester, 120 Dan Cole Road, Elizabethton.
