Nova Alice Elliott, 90, was born April 24, 1921 in Warren County, TN and died August 21, 2011 in the Johnson City Medical Center Hospital following a brief illness.
She resided the past forty years in the Central Community, Elizabethton, TN.
She was the daughter of the late Aubrey and Azalene Davis Jennings. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Thurman Elliott, and a son Patrick in 1978, brothers Burley, Oakley and Truman Jennings, sisters, Verna Jennings, Ann McNutt, and Lela Mathis.
She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, T.J. and Kay Elliott of Elizabethton, grandchildren Randall Elliott, Lisa Lankford, Cynthia Beaudin and Heather Elliott, five great-grandchildren, three sisters-in-law, and several nieces and nephews.
She received an Associate Degree from David Lipscomb University, a BA Degree from Milligan College and a MS Degree from ETSU. She retired in 1982 after thirty years of teaching in the Carter County, TN school system.
The funeral service for Mrs. Elliott will be conducted in the Chapel of Peace, Tetrick Funeral Home, Elizabethton on Tuesday, August 23, 2011 at 8:00 PM with Mr. Roby Ellis, Minister, officiating. The family will receive friends in the funeral home chapel from 7:00-8:00 PM Tuesday prior to the service.
The graveside service and interment will be conducted on Wednesday, August 24, 2011, at 2:00 PM at Happy Valley Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be Derrell Lankford, Ray Jamison, Jerry Jamison, George Ellis, Ronnie Neece and Richard Knode. Those wishing to attend are invited to join the family at the funeral home at 1:15 PM Wednesday to go in procession to the cemetery.
