Olena Nave Musick, 82, Elizabethton passed away Saturday November 26, 2011 at her residence after a brief illness.

A native of Carter County, she was a daughter of the late Luther Paul and Grace Blevins Nave. Olena was a 1946 graduate of Elizabethton High School. She was a member of West Side Christian Church. She was a former member and president of the Elizabethton Women Civic Club, and helped establish the Watauga Mental Health Clinic in Elizabethton. She was a former board member of Assistance & Resource Ministries. Olena loved to write, read and do needle work. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Jack Musick, April 10, 1997 and a brother: Luther Nave.

Survivors include a daughter: Marion Elaine Musick of the home. Two Sons & Daughters-in-Law: Dr. David W. & Cheryl Musick, Greenville, North Carolina and Mark D. & Teresa Musick, Elizabethton. Four Grandchildren: Jesse Musick, Greenville, North Carolina, Allison Musick, Selmer, Tennessee, Ryann Musick and April Carter Bowers both of Elizabethton. Five Great Grandchildren. Two Sisters: Jean Montgomery, Florence, Alabama and Paulette VanHuss, Huntsville, Alabama. Sister-in-law & brother-in-law: Mr. & Mrs. Frank Anderson, Johnson City. Several nieces & nephews.

Funeral Services will be conducted at 7 p.m. Wednesday in the West Side Christian Church with Dr. Greg Key, Minister officiating.

Graveside Service and Interment will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, December 1, 2011 in Happy Valley Memorial Park. Active Pallbearers who are requested to assemble at the church at 6:50 p.m. Wednesday and the funeral home at 10:20 a.m. Thursday will be: Geddie Monroe, Luther McKeehan, Jesse Musick, Richard Dugger, Eddie Butler and Steve Lewis. Honorary pallbearers will be: James D. Curtis, Howard Matherly, Lloyd Arrowood, Tara Grindstaff, Sharon Griffey, Delores Hart and her church family. Music will be provided by the West Side Christian Church Choir, Debbie Hodges and Tabitha Blackwell, soloists.

To those who prefer, memorials may be made in memory of Mrs Musick to the East Tennessee Christian Home, P.O. Box 1147, Elizabethton, Tenn. 37644. The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. Wednesday in the West Side Christian Church. Friends may also call at her residence. Family and friends will assemble at the funeral home at 10:20 a.m. Thursday to go to the cemetery.
