Opal Campbell Jessee, 96, Elizabethton passed away Monday, January 28, 2013 in the Hermitage Health Care following an extended illness.

A native of Johnson County, she was a daughter of the late Nick D. and Callie Rambo Campbell. She had lived most of her life in Carter County. Mrs. Jessee was a retired employee of North American Rayon Corporation where she was employed for several years. She was a member of the Siam Baptist Church. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her first husband Lawrence Campbell who died in 1967, her former husband Thomas Clyde Jessee, a son: Dean Campbell, A Grandson: David Montgomery, a son-in-law: Jack Montgomery, Two Sisters: Ora Hardin and Leona Hipps Nave and Two Brothers: Winford and Gatha Campbell.

Survivors include a daughter; Charlotte Campbell Montgomery, Elizabethton. Two Grandchildren: Dani Sue Thompson and her husband Cory, Murfreesboro and Deanna Davis and husband Wesley, Cameron, NC. Three Great Grandchildren; Nicole Davis, Jessica Rattelade and husband Dave, Raleigh, North Carolina and Kaylen Hall and husband Drew, Murfreesboro. A Great Great Granddaughter: Natalee.

Funeral Services will be conducted at 3 p.m. Wednesday, January 30, 2013 in Memorial Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Jack Roddy officiating. Interment will follow in Happy Valley Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. The family will receive friends from 2 to 3 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home.

Charlotte would like to express a very special “Thank You” to the Residences and Staff of the Pine Oaks Assisted Living, Johnson City and the entire staff and employees of Hermitage Health Care for all the love than was shown during her stay.
