Patsy McKinney Dugger, 73, went to be with her Lord on Friday, February 8, 2013.
Born in Carter County, she was the daughter of the late Dana and Ida McKinney.
Patsy was a member of Harrison Christian Church, where she played the piano for more than thirty years. Patsy loved spending time with family and friends. She enjoyed trips to the beach and sports of all kinds. She loved music, especially the piano. She played the clarinet in her high school band.
Her magnetic personality and beautiful smile were an inspiration to everyone she met. Patsy never knew a stranger. Her life’s lesson to all through her actions was “be kind to others.”
Patsy retired, after 30 years, from East Tennessee State University as Assistant to the Provost for Academic Budgets and Personnel. Patsy received her bachelor’s degree from ETSU in 1996.
Patsy leaves behind her husband of fifty years, Harold Dugger, her beloved children, a son, Keith Dugger, his wife, Jenny, a daughter, Kelly Lewis and her husband, Mike, a granddaughter, and the joy of her life, Isabella Lewis, all from Johnson City; cousins and “sisters at heart,” Kathy McKinney Smith and Susanne McKinney Robbins, their spouses, Danny Smith and Jay Robbins; cousins, Justin Smith, his wife, Kerry Smith, and children Holsten and Sabrah, Tracy Smith Collake and her husband, Justin Collake. Cousins and family members too numerous to mention also survive.
A Celebration of Life Service for Patsy McKinney Dugger will be conducted at 7:00 PM Monday, February 11, 2013 in the Sunrise Chapel of Tetrick Funeral Services, Johnson City, with Pastor Paul Helphinstine officiating.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM until the service hour in the Sunset Room of Tetrick Funeral Services, Johnson City.
A Graveside and Committal service will be Tuesday, February 12, 2013, at 1:00 PM at Happy Valley Memorial Park. Family and friends are asked to meet there at 12:50 PM. Active pallbearers will be Keith Dugger, Mike Lewis, Tommy Mooney, Danny Smith, Justin Smith, Justin Collake and Michael McKinney. Honorary pallbearers include Jay Robbins, David Birchfield, Danny Birchfield and Eric Burchfield.
Kelly and Mike Lewis will receive friends any time at their residence.
