Peggy Paynter Moore

image Mrs. Peggy Moore, age 80, 716 Montclair Drive, Johnson City, passed away Tuesday, February 15, 2011, in the Johnson City Medical Center.

She was a native of Sheffield, England, who had lived much of her life in Johnson City.

She was the daughter of the late John Leslie Paynter and Doris Trikkett Paynter.

In addition to her parents, one brother, Ronald Paynter; one sister, Sandra Kitson; brother-in-law, Jim Hawkins; also preceded her in death.

Mrs. Moore was a member of Daughters of the British Empire (DBE) and Trans Atlantic Brides Association (TBPA).

She retired from Kmart after twenty-seven years of service.

Survivors include: her loving husband of forty-nine years, John Moore of the home; two sons, John Andrew Moore, of Johnson City, and Roger Stephen Moore, of Johnson City; one sister, Sheila Hawkins, of Sevierville; one brother-in-law, Erik Kitson; three nephews, Gary Hawkins, Greg Hawkins and Jason Kitson; one niece, Mandy Stewart.

The funeral service for Mrs. Peggy Moore will be conducted at 8 PM Thursday February 17, 2011, in the Morris-Baker North Chapel. Pastor Lon Tobin will officiate.

The graveside committal service will be conducted at 11 AM Friday in the Happy Valley Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. Minister, family and friends are requested to meet at the funeral home by 10:15 AM Friday to go in procession.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM Thursday prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers the family request that memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society, 508 Princeton Road, Suite 102, Johnson City, Tn. 37601.
