Phyllis Marie Cox, 62, of Lynn Cove Rd., Asheville, died on Tuesday, November 9, 2010, due to injuries sustained in a work related accident.
Mrs. Cox worked with the American Red Cross with Blood Services.
A native of Elizabethton, TN, Mrs. Cox was a daughter of the late Paul Stout and Mary Rose Richardson, and stepdaughter of the late Clyde Richardson.
She is survived by her husband, Gary Cox; sons, David Cox and wife, Carrie, of Leland NC, and Michael Cox, of West Palm Beach, FL; grandchildren, Jeffrey, Christopher and Sarah; and cousins, Helen Ruth Taylor, Joe Dugger and Linda Presnell.
A funeral service for Mrs. Cox will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday at the Groce Funeral Home chapel on Patton Ave in Asheville, NC, with the Rev. Steve Burleson officiating.
Entombment will follow at the Happy Valley Memorial Park at 1:00 in Elizabethton, TN.
Her family will receive friends for an informal gathering from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home.
