Mr. Raymond C. Jung, 87, 310 West Doe Avenue, Elizabethton, died Monday, March 14, 2011, in the Hermitage Health Care Center.
A native of Fredericksburg, TX, he was the son of the late Henry and Mary Rosenbach Jung. Mr. Jung retired after forty plus years from North American Rayon Corporation. He was a very devout member of Saint Elizabeth’s Catholic Church and was a former member of the V.F.W. He was a U.S. Army veteran, having served in World War II. Mr. Jung enjoyed gardening.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Joseph Jung; and three brothers, Oliver Jung, Gilbert Jung and Roy Jung.
Survivors include his wife, Rosa Mae Harmon Jung, of the home; two daughters, Janice Copeland and husband, Mike, Riverside, CA, and Theresa Watkins and husband, Randy, Elizabethton; four sons, John Jung, of the home, Thomas Jung, Elizabethton, James Jung, Johnson City, and Kennis Jung, Eaglesville, TN; eight grandchildren, Michael Copeland and wife Jodi, Tracy Reed and husband, Kevin, Tara Christiansen and husband, Wes, Tiffany Watkins, Brandon Jung, Kelsy Jung, Ray Jung and wife, Samantha, and Leslie. Eleven great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral Mass for Mr. Raymond C. Jung will be conducted at 11:00 AM Thursday, March 17, 2011 in the Saint Elizabeth’s Catholic Church with Father Dennis Kress officiating.
Graveside service will follow in Happy Valley Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be selected from family and church members. Military honors will be accorded by the American Legion Post #49.
The family will receive friends at Tetrick Funeral Home, Elizabethton from 5:00-7:00 PM on Wednesday, March 16, 2011, or at the residence at other times.
