Reba L. Markland, 89, of Elizabethton, went home to be with her Lord on Saturday, February 9, 2013, at Hillview Health Center, following a brief illness. She was the daughter of the late John and Clemie Linebaugh. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Jack Markland, on January 10, 1991; a son, Charles Manning; a granddaughter, Tina Marie Manning; three brothers, Newman Linebaugh, George Linebaugh and Jay Linbaugh; and a sister, Irene Parson. Ms. Markland was a native of Carter County and was a homemaker. She was of the Baptist faith. Survivors include one daughter, Brenda Sue Kelley, Elizabethton; seven grandchildren, Wayne Kelley, Wendy Watson and John Kelley, all of Elizabethton, Amanda Neece, Murfreesboro, Todd Manning and Angie Odom, both of Elizabethton, and Matthew Manning of Oregon; 11 great-grandchildren, Chris Kelley, Brad Kelley, Kianna Watson, Klacie Watson and Kash Kelley, all of Elizabethton, Austin Kelley and Kaylee Neece, both of Murfreesboro, Morgan Manning and Bethany Odom, both of Elizabethton, Mythea Manning of Oregon, and Gabrielle Manning, Bristol, Va.; and two sisters, Bertie Long and Mary Jenkins, both of Elizabethton. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

The funeral service for Ms. Markland will be conducted at 8 p.m. Tuesday, February 12, in the Chapel of Peace of Tetrick Funeral Home, Elizabethton, with Rev. Dennis Wilson officiating. The family will receive friends in the funeral home chapel from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, prior to the service, or at the home of her daughter, Brenda Kelley, 809 Tipton Street, at anytime. The graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday, February 13, at Happy Valley Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be Wayne Kelley, John Kelley, Mike Watson, Chris Kelley and Brad Kelley. Those wishing to attend the service are asked to meet at the funeral home at 10:15 a.m. Wednesday to go in procession.
