Renee Scott Burchfield, 46, Elizabethton, passed away Sunday, October 13, 2013 at her residence. She was a Bristol, Virginia native. Renee was a 1985 graduate of Happy Valley High School. She earned her Bachelor’s Degree in December of 1999 and a Master’s Degree in Education in 2007 at East Tennessee State University. She was employed by the Carter County Board of Education as a Teacher at Hampton Elementary School. She was of the Christian Faith. Survivors include her faithful companion: David Kyte. One loving son: Dustin Burchfield of the home. Her Parents: Margaret and Bill Dolan, Elizabethton and Roy Scott, Abingdon, Virginia. Her Sisters: Kristen Colon and husband Martin, Jacksonville, Florida, Robin Causby and husband Bryan, Linville, North Carolina, Noelani Scott, Abingdon, Virginia. Two Step-Sisters: Sharon Tipton and husband Keith, Johnson City and Denise Wickman and husband Mike, Brookeville, Ohio. Two Step-Brothers: Donnie Emmert, Gray and Eric Dolan and wife Jacki, Lewisburg, Ohio. A special Cousin (sister) Missy Buxton, Jonesborough. Several Aunts, Uncles, Nieces, Nephews and Cousins.
Funeral Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday, October 17, 2013 in Memorial Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Sherrill Nave and Rev. Dean Presnell officiating. Interment will follow in Happy Valley Memorial Park. Music will be provided by the True Gospel Trio. Active Pallbearers will be: Jeff Lyons, Tim Stanley, Kevin Hall, Greg Vantassell, Donnie Emmert, Martin Colon, Eric Dolan, Richard Markland, Thomas White and Bryan Causby. Honorary Pallbearers will be the Entire faculty and staff of Hampton Elementary School, Thomas White and employees and patrons of Fish Springs Marina, Dr. Paul Krammer and Staff at Hope Wellmont Cancer Center, her faithful and dedicated friends that have been by her side, Gelnna Mink, Kelly Collins, Greg, Melissa & Madison Van Tassell, Christi Deloach, Renee Lewis, Kevin , Beth, Wyatt and Bailey Hall and her very special aunt, Cleo Kyte and special friends Nancy & Al Sellers.
