Rev. Lloyd Benson Estep, 81, Elizabethton, went home to be with his Lord Saturday, February 2, 2013, at the James H. Quillen VA Medical Center.

A native of Carter County, he was a son of the late Roy Estep and Eva Taylor Estep Lipps. He served in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean Conflict. Rev. Estep was a Minister in the Free Will Baptist Church, having pastored churches in Illinois, Indiana, Michigan and also at Lyons Chapel Free Will Baptist Church. He also had worked for the United States Forrest Service and was a roofer and Carpenter.

Rev. Estep was a member of the Tiger Creek First Free Will Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters: Ruth Grindstaff and Shirley Williams; and his Step-Father: Webster Lipps.

Survivors include his wife: Shirley Phillips Estep; A Daughter: Teresa Gail Campbell and husband, Tony; and Two sons: Irving Estep and Lloyd Estep Jr., all of Elizabethton; Three Grandchildren; Three Sisters: Eula Sickle and husband, Leroy , Van Buren, Arkansas, Thelma Greene and Della Mae Mullins and husband, Frank, both of Elizabethton; Several Nieces & Nephews.

Funeral Services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Tuesday in Memorial Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Kenneth Grindstaff and Rev. John Vance officiating.

Interment will follow in Happy Valley Memorial Park. Active Pallbearers will be selected from family and friends.

The family would like to express a special “Thank You” to the ICU of the James H. Quillen VA Medical Center for the excellent care that was received.

The family will receive friends from 12 Noon Tuesday until the service hour at 1 p.m. Military Honors will be provided by the American Legion. Friends may also visit with the family at the residence.
