Richard T. May, 64, of Elizabethton, passed away Monday, September 17, 2012, at Johnson City Medical Center following an extended illness.
He was the son of the late Roby Dewitt May Jr. and Norma Frazier May and was born in Carter County. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Thomas D. May.
Survivors include two uncles, Dr. Floyd May and Dr. Joe May, both of Elizabethton; three aunts, Joy Bernhausen and Hilda Collins, both of Elizabethton, and Bertha Lou Boone of West Jefferson, N.C.; one niece, Kimberly Norma May, Elizabethton; and one nephew, Shane Lamar May, Elizabethton. Several cousins also survive.
A graveside service for Mr. May will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday, September 21, at Happy Valley Memorial Park with Rev. Estel Williams officiating. Those wishing to attend are asked to meet at the cemetery at 10:50 a.m. Friday.
