Mr. Robert Linberg, 73, of Elizabethton, went home to be with his precious Lord on Wednesday, November 2, 2011, after a brief illness.

Mr. Linberg was a special education teacher in the Carter County School System, where he taught for thirty-five years. He was a very active member of Cross Pointe Fellowship Church and an ordained minister. He loved his Lord, his Family, his church, his job and his fellow employees.

He is survived by his wife of fifty years, Sandra Payne Linberg, of the home; a son, Paul T. Linberg, and his wife, Melissa, 168 Little Avenue, Elizabethton; a daughter, Willie Linberg, 206 Jenkins Hollow Road, Elizabethton; grandsons, Matthew Linberg and Paul J. Linberg and his wife, Deanna, all of Elizabethton; two great grandchildren; a granddaughter, Caroline Reed, Elizabethton; a brother, George Linberg, Dubois, Pa; sisters, Gertie Dickerson and Thelma Armstrong, Fredericksburg, VA, Tilda Whitton, SC, and Geraldine Milliron, PA.

A Celebration of his Wonderful Life will be conducted at 2:00 PM on Saturday, November 5, 2011, in the Tetrick Funeral Home, Chapel of Peace, Elizabethton, with Rev. Chuck Babb and Rev. Harold Mains officiating.

The family will receive friends in the funeral home chapel from 1:00 to 2:00 PM on Saturday prior to the service. Friends may also call at Bob and Sandy’s home, 107 Payne Street, or at the homes of his son, Paul and daughter-in-law, Melissa, 168 Little Avenue, or daughter, Willie, 206 Jenkins Hollow Road.

Interment will follow the service in the Happy Valley Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be family and friends.

The family requests that donations be made in lieu of flowers, in Mr. Linberg’s memory, to Cross Pointe Fellowship Church, 206 Parkway Boulevard, Elizabethton, TN 37643
