Robert Howard “Bobby” Lipps, 61, Elizabethton passed away unexpected Sunday December 25, 2011 in the Sycamore Shoals Hospital.

A native of Carter County, he was a son of the late Howard Herbert and Romella Roberts Lipps. He had lived most of his life in Carter County. He was a 1969 graduate of Elizabethton High School and attended East Tennessee State University. He was employed by TPI Inc., Gray for 40 years. Bobby enjoyed watching UT Football and Cubs Baseball, spending time with family, grandchildren and friends at work. He attended Keenburg Free Will Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife: Shirley Sue Tolley Lipps. His Children: Angela Robin Lipps, Wendy Browning & husband Clem Browning III all of Elizabethton. His Step-Children: Herbert Joe Woodby, Kingsport, Elizabeth Woodby, Madison, Ohio, and Carolyn Glenn, Falon, Nevada. His Grandchildren including two special granddaughters who were like his own Haley Cornett and Autumn Lipps, and other grandchildren: Timothy Browning, Brooklyn Browning, Austin Robert Browning and Zachary Cornett. Step-Grandchildren: Angelina Woodby, Lou Tashia Woodby, Joey Woodby, Hannah Woodby, Haley Buchannan, Jonathan Wixon, Charlie Wixon and Cody Robinson. Great Grandchildren: Alexis Reho and Serenity Woodby. Two brothers, Eddie Lipps & wife Denell, Glenn Lipps, and one sister, Deborah Williams & husband John. Several Nieces, Nephews & Cousins.

Funeral Services will be conducted at 7 p.m. Tuesday in Memorial Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Gene Fleenor and Rev. R.L. Poole officiating.

Graveside Service and Interment will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Happy Valley Memorial Park. Music will be provided by Lisa Poole and his granddaughters. Active Pallbearers who are requested to assemble at the funeral home at 10:20 a.m. Wednesday will be: Danny Fillers, David Francisco, Clem Browning III, Ronnie Kirby, Donnie Kirby, Jeffrey Wilson, Randy Watkins and Dakota Setzer. Honorary Pallbearers will be: Kenneth Fletcher, Jr., Willie Setzer and Gary Perry. The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home. Friends may also call at his residence. Family and friends will assemble at the funeral home at 10:20 a.m. Wednesday to go to the cemetery.
