I’d like the memory of me to be a happy one. I’d like to leave an afterglow of smiles when life is done. I’d like to leave an echo whispering softly down the ways, of happy times and laughing times and bright sunny days. I’d like the tears of those who grieve, to dry before the sun, of happy memories that I leave when life is done. Robin Grindstaff, 55, passed away September 7, 2013 at Johnson City Medical Center, Johnson City. Born in Elizabethton, she was the daughter of the late Thedford and Pauline Carr Campbell. Robin was of the Baptist faith. She was a happy, fun, loving person. She enjoyed southern rock music, going to the beach, soaking up sunshine and sharing good times with friends and family. She was an office manager for HomeTech Industries. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her grandparents and a brother, Michael Campbell. Those left to cherish her memory include two sisters, Jennifer Campbell of Johnson City and Hope West of Kingsport; a cousin, Mona Letterman of Johnson City; a niece, Amy Campbell; and a special aunt, Jewell Blevins. Many other cousins, aunts, uncles and friends also survive. It was Robin’s wish to be cremated with no services. A random act of kindness to someone in need may be given in lieu of flowers.
