Mr. Rondah Mack Riddle, 90, of Elizabethton died Sunday, July 24, 2011 in Pine Ridge Care Center following an extended illness.

A native of Avery County (Shulls Mills), NC, he was the son of the late John Albert Riddle and Mary Etta Greer Riddle Chafin. Mr. Riddle was a retired electrician with the IBEW Local 934. He was a member of Elizabethton First Church of the Nazarene. Mr. Riddle was a U. S. Army veteran of World War II. He was also a member of the American Legion Post #49 and the Dashiell Masonic Lodge #238 F&AM where he was a 32nd Degree Mason of the Scottish Rites.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his step-father, Thomas Jefferson Chafin, a granddaughter, a grandson, a great-granddaughter, one brother and five sisters.

Survivors include his wife, Kathlyn Elliott Riddle, of the home; children, Ronyah Lyn Ambrose, Telford, TN, Kathy Alycia LaVillier, Elizabethton, Myrietta Karyn Welch, Elizabethton, Gregory Byron Riddle, Argyle, TX, Ingryd Mychelle Riddle, Knoxville, TN, Eryc Myron Riddle, Augusta, GA and Rondah Mack Courtney Riddle, Augusta, GA; eleven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; a brother, John Riddle, Watauga, TN and special friends, Peggy Thomas Bradley, Gray, TN, Patsy and Mack Lyons, Elizabethton. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral service for Mr. Rondah Mack Riddle will be conducted at 7:00 PM Wednesday, July 27, 2011 in the Sunset Chapel of Hathaway-Percy Funeral Home with Rev. Kenley Knight officiating. Music will be under the direction of Kristi Knight and Jerri Riddle. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00-7:00 PM on Wednesday prior to the funeral service or at the residence of a daughter, Karyn Welch at other times.

Graveside service and interment will be conducted at 11:00 AM Thursday, July 28, 2011 in Happy Valley Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be Brian Pardue, Jordan Riddle, Elliott Welch, Kent Edens, Barton Edens, Nick Buck and Jacob Pardue. Military honors will be accorded by the American Legion Post #49. Everyone will meet at the funeral home at 10:15 AM on Thursday to go in procession to the cemetery.

The family would like to express a special thank you to the Pine Ridge Care and Rehabilitation Center, the Staff of Sycamore Shoals Hospital and the Elizabethton First Church of the Nazarene for the care of their loved one and the support shown to the family.
