Ronnie L. Gobble, age 49, of Elizabethton, passed away on Tuesday, July 16, 2013, at the Johnson City Medical Center. He was born in Okinawa, Japan, and was a son of R.L. and Esther Gobble. Mr. Gobble was preceded in death by his wife Ada Elizabeth Gobble.
Mr. Gobble was a veteran of the U.S. Army National Guard, having served in Iraq, during Desert Storm/ Enduring Freedom. He was a member of First Church of the Nazarene in Elizabethton, where he served as a board member and trustee. He loved motorcycles and shooting guns.
In addition to his parents, survivors include his daughters, Chyanne Gobble of Elizabethton, and Jasmine Stout and husband Alan of St. Paul, VA; a grandson, Weston Stout of St. Paul, VA; a brother, Robert Gobble, II. and wife Patricia, of Elizabethton; a special friend, Julie Doyle, Dahlonega, GA; two nieces and one nephew. Several aunts, uncles and cousins also survive.
The funeral service for Mr. Gobble will be conducted at 7:00 PM on Friday, July 19, 2013, in the Chapel of Peace of Tetrick Funeral Home, Elizabethton with Pastor Kinley Knight officiating. The family will receive friends in the funeral home chapel from 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM prior to the service; or at the home of his parents, 400 M. Street, Elizabethton, TN, at anytime.
The graveside service will be conducted at 11:00 AM on Saturday, July 20, 2013 in Happy Valley Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be John Grindstaff, Danny Vanover, Kyle Birchfield, Randy Harness, Nathan Morefield, and Mike Swartz. Honorary pallbearers will be Matt Townsend, Harlan Shell, Neil Greenwell, Jim Clark, members of the 776th Maintenance Company, the 730th Quartermaster, and co-workers of Johnson City Parks and Recreation. Military honors will be provided by the Carter County Honor Guard. Those wishing to attend the graveside service are asked to meet at Tetrick Funeral Home at 10:15 AM on Saturday, to go in procession.
