Roy Ingram 81, Elizabethton, passed away Tuesday, November 19, 2013, in the James H. Quillen VA Medical Center. A native of Roan Mountain, he was a son of the late Dayton and Nettie Mae Largent Ingram. He was a member of the Valley Forge Christian Church. He was a veteran of the United States Navy, serving as a 1st Gunner’s Mate on the USS Albany. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four sisters: Mary Livingston, Joann Whitehead, Mollie Hart and Katherine Ball; Five Brothers: Franklin D., Bill, Charlie, Madison and Thad Ingram; and a half-brother: Tennessee Largent. Survivors include his wife of 57 years: Jean Davenport Ingram; Two Daughters: Sherry Awad, Columbia, Tennessee, and Sandy Lewis, Oak Ridge, Tennessee; Three Grandchildren: Chris Lewis and wife, Leigh, of Johnson City, Jennifer Lewis Goode Romascavage and husband, Gary, of Allentown, PA, and Michelle Awad, of Chattanooga, Tenn.; One Great-Grandson: Samuel Goode V, of Allentown, PA. Several nieces & nephews also survive. Funeral Services will be conducted at 7 p.m. Friday in Memorial Funeral Chapel with Mr. David Siebenaler, Minister, officiating. Entombment Service will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday, November 23, 2013, in the Mausoleum of Peace, Happy Valley Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. The family would like to express a special “Thank You” to the Doctors, Staff and Nurses of the James H. Quillen VA Medical Center. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made in memory of Mr. Ingram to the Building Fund, Valley Forge Christian Church, 114 Valley Forge Christian Church Road, Elizabethton, Tenn. 37643. Military Honors will be provided by the American Legion and Tennessee National Guard. The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. Friday in the funeral home. Family and friends will assemble at the funeral home at 9:20 a.m. Saturday to go to the cemetery. Condolences may be emailed to mfc@chartertn.net. Memorial Funeral Chapel is in charge.
