Roy Oscar Brown, 92, Elizabethton, passed away Friday, December 20, 2013, at his residence following an extended illness. A native of Washington County, he was a son of the late Allen and Mae Fox Brown. He had lived in Carter County for a number of years. Mr. Brown served in the United States Army during World War II. He was a retired Mechanic at North American Rayon Corporation, where he worked for 40 years. He was a member of Dashiell Masonic Lodge #238 and the York Rite Bodies. He was a member of the Borderview Christian Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister. Survivors include his wife of 50 years: Marie Simerly Brown; Two Daughters & Sons-In-Law: Donna & Bill Cox and Diane & Dean Hill; Six Grandchildren; Several great grandchildren; A sister: Charlotte Sue Geisler, Johnson City; One Brother: William Brown, Pensacola, Florida.

A Masonic Service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, December 22, 2013, in Memorial Funeral Chapel conducted by Dashiell Masonic Lodge #238. Interment will follow in Happy Valley Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. Condolences may be emailed to mfc@chartertn.net.
